Studio M Valentine’s Day Collection

I really wish I hadn’t passed over this brand for so long.  If you aren’t familiar with Studio M, they are available only at Meijer.  They also, from what I’ve heard and seen, are colors formerly distributed by Color Club under the same color name.  There were 15 different polishes available from this collection, but most of them were ones I’d seen before, already had from a previous collection, or knew they were in the core display.

This year’s collection is called Be A Heart Breaker.  I picked up 5 colors, 4 glitters and a creme.  The creme was an after-thought, so it’s not in the picture below when I initially did my swatches.

Up first is Singles Only.  There are hex glitters of two or three different sizes and very fine micro glitter  all silver.  These are set in a sheer pink base.  I used two coats in the swatch and feel like I got pretty good coverage.

Next up is Platinum Record.  It’s basically the same glitter as in Singles Only, just set in a clear base.  In the bottle it looks like there might be some black micro glitter, but as far as I can tell, there isn’t.  This glitter applied smoothly, and the brush picked it up from the bottle better than I thought it would.

This next one is probably my favorite from this collection.  It’s called Fame & Fortune. Set in a sheer raspberry shade, it’s full of glitter shards.  This is a bottle to turn upside down for awhile before applying it, as the shards settle.  The only thing with application was getting the shards where I wanted them so it wasn’t clumpy, but they laid flat on the nail.

These final two can be found in the core line at Meijer.  I often forget to look to see what’s offered there and in a collection before purchasing.  I don’t often notice a color until I see it in a collection,  and I’ve had to start remembering to look there before purchasing.  If it’s a color I want and it’s in the core line, then I know I can wait until they’re on sale.  These were two I forgot to do that with.

Tru Passion is packed with micro glitters.  These are some of my favorite polishes to pick up from Studio M.  Tru Passion is packed with lavender micro glitters.  I can’t remembe3r if I used two or three coats for this swatch.  Two coats will give close to full coverage for the most part.

Now for the one creme I picked up from this collection.  It’s called All That Razz.  I adore these shades of pink.  What I love most about this polish is that it dried to a matte finish!  This was a last minute decision, as there was only one left in the display and I didn’t realized that it was also offered in the core selection until a few days ago.  I’m sorry for the very poor photo of this one, but I didn’t realize how close to dead my camera battery was.

Do you have any of these colors, either from Color Club or Studio M?
